How can I participate in the ASAP Academy Convening Feb 2025?
We are delighted that you are interested in the ASAP Academy Convening!
You can attend by submitting a summary of your work for presentation in different ways through different themes. Click here to View the Themes Page.

Who will arrange my travel and visa?
You will need to make your own arrangements for flights and visas. Please check this Govt of Thailand website for more information.
A tourist visa is easy to obtain and many countries are eligible for the e-visa or visa on arrival facility. Taxis from the airport are very easy to get and very safe.
Where will the participants stay?
The venue is Cabbages & Condoms, Bangkok.
There is no accommodation on site but there are plenty of good hotels and hostels nearby. You will need to book your own rooms directly with the hotel or hostel.
You can check out some of these (link to be updated) which are within walking distance. We have not visited them so please ensure that you do the due diligence before making any bookings.
What are the themes of the conference?
Will there be scholarships available?
Limited scholarships will be available for ASAP Academy Alumni.
We hope that the funding partners and donors who invest in safe abortion rights will support their grantees to participate.
What is the language of the Convening?
The main language of this conference will be English.
Although we recognize the responsibility to open up such important spaces beyond the post-colonial languages inherited by many of our countries, however, we do not have the resources to support simultaneous translations in other languages and hence only English abstracts will be accepted for review to be included in the plenary or for posters.

Is there access for those with mobility issues?
Yes, there will be ramps and lifts to allow access to all spaces of the Convening, meal areas and bathrooms.
I have never been to Bangkok earlier. How do I figure things out?
We will be sharing a detailed information pack once you register. This will include all the useful and important details about weather, currency, charging points, safety issues and more. It will also have some information in Thai language for you to show the taxi driver or anyone else to ask for help or directions.
