ASAP Academy: An Online Learning Hub for Safe Abortion Rights
1. Content Advisory:
We recognize that many of the training materials, videos, PowerPoint presentations etc will have images, concepts, issues which could be considered as triggering and disturbing. They are part of the approved resource materials being used by the trainers.
We understand that on occasion the sensitive topics may be difficult for some participants to deal with.
As an adult learning space we encourage you to take responsibility for your own mental and emotional safety before you enrol.
2. Time management:
- Participants will ensure that they manage their own time for every course and module that they sign up for.
- Enrolment fees paid for one course or module will be limited to only the chosen course or module and have to be finished within a certain duration.
3. Sensitivity & Diversity:
- It is expected from everyone to be sensitive to the differences, and acknowledge, respect, and celebrate the diversities.
- We recognize that these are spaces for learning and unlearning, however, any racist, casteist, derogatory, sexist, offensive language or bullying behaviour will not be accepted.
4. Academic Integrity:
- Participants are expected to complete this course independently, work on their assignments as per instructions given, and produce original ideas-thoughts.
- Plagiarism will not be accepted and will be dealt with strictly.
5. Timely Completion:
- Participants are expected to be attentive and engage actively with the instructors and course content.
- Access to all accounts will be terminated at the end of each semester.
6. Attendance Policy:
- Your attendance and participation are vital for class success.
- Attendance is expected at all classes. One unexcused absence will be allowed.
- Absence in accountability group sessions and interactive sessions with lead trainers may result in ineligibility in getting certificates.
7. Participation Policy:
Quality participation is a learned skill and it is important for participants to balance their speaking and listening skills. Not everyone feels comfortable sharing verbally in class, but it is skill to be enhanced with support from others.
8. Sharing Course Content:
- The course content is the intellectual property right of the academy and may not be shared outside.
- Students may share materials with other registered members of the class including lecture notes, powerpoint slides, and submitted assignments.
9. Zero – tolerance policy for sexual harassment:
We define it as any inappropriate verbal, electronic communication through images, audio or video, behaviour, jokes, innuendo and physical behaviour, or contact by a participant to another or by an outside resource person towards any participant, which is unwelcome and makes the others uncomfortable in a sexual way. We will enquire into any complaints made (verbal or written) and if due cause is found then the person/perpetrator will be removed and blacklisted from any future ASAP programs.
10. I understand that
This program is designed for people who believe in people’s right to choose, to bodily autonomy and agency. If I violate this fundamental value on which the academy is based on, the organizers will notify me and reserve the right to cancel my application or suspend my admission by closing my account without refunding my fees.
Note:
If you simply click the “Complete” button during the course and attempt to skip lessons, the course will finish, and you won’t be able to revisit it. This might impact your assignment grades and certification. Therefore, please ensure you go through each lesson entirely before marking it as complete.
